I recently had to go and renew my provincial health card. I got there late in the morning, and there was a line with about 10 people in it. I was happy. Why? Because it meant I could do some of my fun little mental exercises.
Meditating for 15 minutes or so every day is wonderful, and it has had a great impact on my life. But you don’t have to wait until you have a chunk of time to practice quieting your mind, achieving a positive vibration, being in the now, or any other positive mental exercise you’d like to do.
Throughout the day, no matter how busy you think your life is, you have little pockets of time. Five minutes waiting for the bus here, a minute waiting for your burger there. Why not spend the time improving your vibration? You can spend five minutes being impatient and thinking dark thoughts about public transportation in your city, or you can spend five minutes being in the now or focusing on the feeling of serenity. Either way, you’ve got to wait.
So the next time you find yourself waiting for something, maybe appreciate the little break in your routine that the Universe created for you, turn your thoughts inward, and take advantage of that little window of time.
